Meet Your Peelers Coaches

  • Head Coach

We’re thrilled to introduce Coach Joshua Kloosterman, the Head Coach of the Panhandle Peelers. Coach Kloosterman brings 17 years of baseball experience and a passion for developing young athletes into skilled, confident players who love the game.

A standout during his playing career, Coach Kloosterman set high school records in pitching ERA and on-base percentage before continuing his journey at the collegiate level. While his playing career was cut short by injury, his drive for the game never wavered. He earned a degree in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University and obtained his MHSAA coaching certification, equipping him with the knowledge and tools to help athletes perform at their best.

Coach Kloosterman’s approach to coaching is grounded in mastering the fundamentals. His expertise in body mechanics and form, honed through overcoming two significant injuries, ensures players learn proper technique to maximize performance while preventing injury. He emphasizes strength through flexibility, mobility, and stability, teaching players to understand their bodies and perform at their peak.

But baseball isn’t just physical—it’s mental. Coach Kloosterman is dedicated to building athletes’ confidence through positive thinking, visualization, and repetition. His goal is to develop players who are not only skilled but also resilient, mentally tough, and ready to tackle challenges on and off the field.

What sets Coach Kloosterman apart is his authenticity and transparency. He believes in open communication with both players and parents, fostering trust and creating an environment where athletes can thrive. His coaching philosophy reflects the core values of the Panhandle Peelers—development, teamwork, and a love for the game.

With Coach Kloosterman at the helm, the Panhandle Peelers are ready to grow into a program built on fundamentals, competition, and a passion for baseball.

  • Peelers Manager

We are thrilled to have Coach Max Reilly as a key part of our coaching staff. With an exceptional background in athletics, leadership, and coaching, Max brings a unique combination of competitive experience, dedication, and a deep understanding of what it takes to develop young athletes.

Max grew up in Davis, California, where he played baseball, soccer, basketball, and water polo until choosing to focus on water polo in high school. As a four-year varsity water polo player and senior-year team captain, Max’s leadership and dedication were evident early on. He continued his athletic career at the United States Air Force Academy, competing on their NCAA Division I water polo team. During his four years, Max helped lead his team to the NCAA Final Four and served as team captain in his senior year.

After graduating, Max served 10 years in the Air Force as a Special Tactics Officer, deploying multiple times and leading teams of men in and out of combat. Rising to the rank of Major, his service honed his leadership, communication, and team-building skills—qualities that now make him an invaluable coach and mentor.

Since his college days, Max has been dedicated to coaching, helping both water polo and baseball players develop their skills, confidence, and passion for the game. As a parent of one of our team’s players, Max understands the challenges and frustrations that can arise in youth sports, particularly in the competitive travel baseball environment.
